The Story Behind ScrunchEaze

I’m Karen, the creator of ScrunchEaze, a new kind of scrunchie designed to be gentle, practical, and truly kind to your hair.

Over 20 years ago, I was diagnosed with lupus. For most of that time, I carried on quietly, managing flare-ups and doing what I needed to do. But in the last few years, things changed. My hair began to shed more. I noticed thinning around my hairline and breakage that was hard to ignore.

To most people, it wasn’t obvious, I’ve always had thick hair, but I could see it. And I could feel it.

I switched from standard hair ties to scrunchies because they were softer and less damaging. They helped… but only to a point. I still dealt with pulling, snagging, and that painful moment when you try to remove it and half your hair comes with it.

And I kept thinking:
What if a scrunchie could hold securely… but release effortlessly?
No tugging. No breakage. Just a smooth, gentle slip-off every time.

The Idea That Finally Clicked

After months of sketches, prototypes, trial runs, and a lot of patience, I found the answer ,a small quick-release fastener that let the scrunchie open instantly.

No twisting. No tugging. No tearing.
Just unclip and go.

It was simple. It was clever.
And it was exactly what I wished had existed years earlier.

I’ve run other businesses before, but none have felt as personal as this.

ScrunchEaze was born from something real, my own frustration, my changing hair, and my desire to create something kinder for people like me.

This brand isn’t about trends, mass production, or “just another scrunchie.”
It’s about thoughtful design, gentle solutions, and a little innovation with a lot of heart.
